Welcome to St Leonard’s Church, Sunningwell
Welcome to St Leonard’s Church Sunningwell Oxfordshire
If you have reached this page, you probably want to find about our activities and services.
We are a relatively small congregation, unless it is term time when we are joined by boarders from a local preparatory school. Our main service is at 9.30 on Sunday morning, followed by coffee and biscuits or cake (depending whose turn it is!).
We enjoy having visitors, so please do feel free to come and join us. We have Messy Church once a month, a Bible study and other activities you can also become involved in.
We are part of a very active village and our links page shows you what is happening in the wider community. History forms an important part of our church and ‘Tales from God’s Acre’ gives you some idea of the characters from the past. We have a very special porch, named after a former bishop of Salisbury, John Jewel and a window by J.B. Seddon which takes on different appearances at different times of the day.
If you visit the church during the day you are welcome to enjoy the peace of St Leonard’s or wander around the churchyard. We are a congregation which is seeking to live out our faith in today’s culture and community. Our worship is in the Anglican tradition. Our faith is in Jesus Christ and you are welcome to share the Christian journey with us.
